In 1948, the fiberglass shell chair was first designed as an entry for a design competition, and became known as one of the most important and recognizable designs representing the 20th century. Its innovative shape has been loved by many people throughout the ages. MODERNICA continues to manufacture the iconic fiberglass chair, carefully crafting each and every shell chair with outstanding craftsmanship and adhering to traditional techniques and processes.

"Shell Chair" and "Base Table (Aiko Table)" are now available.
The "Shell Chair" lineup includes three types: the upholstered "Arm Shell Chair (with armrests)", the "Side Shell Chair", and the original design "Side Shell Chair". The one-piece molded design, which smoothly connects the seat and the armrests, is ergonomically designed to provide a comfortable seating experience. The fiberglass seat fits better than it looks, gently enveloping the body.
The base (legs) is the most representative "Eiffel Base." As its name suggests, the delicate and beautiful wire frame structure is reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. It is lightweight yet durable, and blends in with any interior, creating a sophisticated impression.
The "Base Table" is a lightweight, versatile side table. The table top is made of 11 layers of laminated wood and features chamfered wooden edges. It combines design and functionality, making it suitable for a variety of spaces.
