At a Japanese factory that boasts world-class technological capabilities,BAPE®︎'s denim collection is produced.
The sewing that forms the core of the products is handled by a sewing center in Niimi City, Okayama Prefecture, which was established 27 years ago.
This factory, which has its roots in Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture, known as the birthplace of denim sewing, has achieved high quality and stable delivery times by focusing on integrated production, despite the fact that the industry is dominated by division of labor. The skills of its experienced craftsmen are known as "Niimi of the World."
It is said that "sewing begins and ends with the stitching," and the quality of the stitching is what determines the quality of the work.
Our craftsmen have practiced so much that the sewing machine becomes one with their body, and they have a lot of experience. Even if the same fabric, thread, and pattern are used, the craftsman's sensibility will make a difference. That is why we insist on integrated production, and are able to create stable, high-quality products.

Finishing by a pioneer of distressed finishes
The factory that processes the sewn products is located in Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, near Sendai City. In the past, the only processing available for denim pants was one wash and bleaching to fade the color.
This factory, which has produced products for major denim manufacturers, was the first in the world to create a distressed denim finish in 2001, and this new way of expressing denim quickly spread around the world.

This technique tests the experience and sense of the craftsman, and skilled craftsmen with over 20 years of experience judge the softness and hardness of each material and change the way they shave. They never think rationally, but take their time to create the product that the customer wants.
